In My Dreams

Anytime I bring you some music, I call that a Z'Bro Moment #WSKO_ZBro, because my music is as diversely open as my heart. I just love good music!

This here song is definitely underrated and deserving of more attention. Yup! So in appreciation this Thanksgiving Eve... I give to you 'In My Dreams' by Jackie Jackson. It came to mind tonight after my daughter, Brianna, had just told me in phone conversation that Granny (my Mother) had came to her dreams last night. Enjoy...

What a wonderful song! Y'all know I want to continue with this vibe tonight. As you all should know by now, I am a HUGE Michael Jackson fan Representing his legacy always and forever, which includes his beloved family #MWMJF. This here song was released through Motown Records(when I was only 19 months old, might I add) on October 14, 1973. I wonder if my MaMa ever liked this song way back then... Hmm??? Definitely sounds like something she would had gelled to. Perhaps she is among us more than we realize. "Perhaps", I like to think ;)
One thing always leads to another. So this album is on my agenda. Homework. Why don't y'all even throw it on tonight as you do your last minute preparations for the big day tomorrow. Have an enjoyable Thanksgiving.
More on the this full album release.... Sadly the album suffered from a lack of promotion and did not chart. It was his only full-length solo release for more than 15 years and his only solo album with Motown. Worth the checking out more if you enjoyed this and Jackson Family history, and well good music!
"Love Don't Want to Leave" has appeared on several Jackson 5 compilations (including Anthology 76Anthology 86 and Soulsation!), but the other tracks only appeared on the 33 rpm vinyl LP, which ranks among the more obscure releases in the Jackson family catalog. The album features background vocals from the Jackson 5 on "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)" and the B-side opener "Do I Owe".
"Is It Him or Me" was sampled by Nas for his song "War" on his Street's Disciple album.

"Untouchable" The Michael Jackson Tribute featuring Do Knock & Jalles Fr...

God, I miss MJ! But am thankfully reminded of Him everyday, through the magnificent artistry He has inspired in so many others. This is a beautiful tribute to the Greatest 1!

Truly embodies the spirit of every young man who's ever put on a pair of their favorite dancing shoes, possibly even a hat and one glove to imitate Michael Jackson. This is a world class tribute! If Michael were here, I'm sure he'd be 'Speechless.' To dance with MJ's spirit too would just be TOO AMAZING, too!! LOL ;)

Throwback Thursday: Two Bads (About Michael Jackson & LL Cool J)

Years ago, way back in the late 80s when both these songs were the shit! Our once local Urban Excursion AM radio station's (now can't recall the stations name for the life of me... oh the years, the years) show used to play this kickin' remix of the two Bad's together. I prob have it packed away on cassette somewhere, which I might never find :\ Wish I could, it was the BEST. Anyone familiar with it?

Conversation here also reminds me of the Right On Magazine cover featuring LL & MJ (Here's a couple online photo resources: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/104568022581980314/?lp=true https://digital.library.cornell.edu/catalog/ss:12529273).

Also, don't you agree this guy's voice impressions were on point and tastefully entertaining? Some just overdo MJ in a condescending, ridiculing-way that I personally dislike and find rude & insulting to him. So props to this man pulling off that risky business ;)
This truly is a nice Throwback Thursday discussion with a great pair of songs. Enlightened my morning.

Lana Del Rey - Venice Bitch

Is it me or does anyone get high on Lana Del Rey's songs? Lana's videos always make me nostalgic for places I've never even been to and experiences I've never had. Thanks, Ms. Del Rey, for being a breath of fresh air in a boring music landscape where seemingly similar rhythm machines, voices and melodies are overused.

The Chainsmokers - This Feeling (Lyric Video) ft. Kelsea Ballerini

HaHa, I ain't got no Sweetheart to dedicate, but this is a cute Sweetest Day Treat for the young love out there especially! And this lyric video is clever for Halloween Season 2018 too! Awesome catchy song sure to be another lasting Chainsmokers classic☺

dodie - Human

So digging this one! Catchy enough for the fam, yet underlying edginess with a nice driving soft bass. Smooth October/Autumn Release perfect for Sweetest Day and Halloween too! Clever video concept ☺

Passenger | Ghost Town (Official Video)

Song and video reminded me of Gary, Indiana. A lot of cool architecture there in sorted urban decay, would had also been an ideal locale to film. Nice October release too! Love Passenger ♥

Would You Trust You

Sean O'Hara

Marc h 6, 2018

Trust is valuable. It affects everything. Being trusted by others is one of the things you must have to go far in life and to achieve your greatest success.
Trust isn’t a quick thing you can gain. It is something earned over a period of time, after consistently being honest, always acting with integrity, never lying or misleading. It is how you act. It is who you are.
If you want to be a person other people trust, take a look at your actions, the decisions you make on a daily basis.
Here are 9 traits of trustworthy people. Do you have them? Can people trust you?

1. They are authentic.

People want to be around others that are real, meaning they are authentic and have high character. Authentic people are not trying to be above anyone else. They are likeable, humble and easy to talk to.

2. They are consistent.

Everyone has a bad day. But people want to see consistent, positive behavior in the people they trust. Affirmative actions and smart decisions make a difference in the eyes of others.

3. They have integrity.

People want other people around them that stand up for what is right in life, even when no one is watching.

4. They are compassionate.

Trustworthy people put themselves in other people’s shoes. They are always thinking of others, feeling for others—it’s not all about them.

5. They are kind.

People build up trust when they look out for others, when they are there for them when they need someone most, not just when everything is going OK.

6. They are resourceful.

Trusted people are always learning and growing. They are constant students. They always know there is room to get better, and because of that, they know ways to help inspire and support others—and they give and share those resources.

7. They are connectors.

They look for ways to align like-minded people, and they connect people who have the knowledge or experience to help them get what they want.

8. They are humble.

Trustworthy people want to get others out there first, before themselves. They realize that the efforts of the team really make things happen, versus what they can individually accomplish.

9. They are available.

They are there for people, available to others to support them always. They go out of their way to make time for others.

Alone In Thought

“The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone.” Goethe

I tend to tread lightly on this planet (at least I hope I do), not abusing it or taking it for granted, being kind to others when I meet them, or even showing compassion when mistakes are made. We are all connected in some way or another, linked to the common means of surviving and being human. Beauty is there for everyone to see.
The older I get, the more I feel a sense of gratitude for the things that are underappreciated, which includes myself, I guess.
